Into the Storm

Into the Storm Synopsis

Award-winning author Brogen Murphy tells a new story of bravery, friendship and hope in a near-future, rewilded Britain.

Two impossible journeys. One gathering storm.

Astrid survived the Wildlands - a vast, rewilded landscape filled with bison, beaver and bears. Now she wants the authorities to stop the poachers she discovered there. But what can she do when no one believes her?

Finn and his father live a quiet life on the edge of the protected sanctuary. But Finn's father is hiding a secret that could cost them everything - a bear cub that belongs in the Wildlands.

With time running out to expose the poachers, and the cub growing too big to hide, Astrid and Finn set off on parallel journeys - over land, sea and sky.

But winter is closing in, and a terrible storm is brewing…

This series is perfect for 8-12 year olds and fans of The Explorer and The Last Wild.

Wildlands was shortlisted for the Waterstones Children's Book Prize and was the winner of the Children's Wainwright Prize for Fiction.
