"Set sail across the oceans learning as you go in this appealing information book."
Inquisitive young explorers are invited to embark on a voyage to five magnificent destinations in this appealing illustrated information book. Together we discover the five oceans – Arctic, Atlantic, Pacific, Southern and Indian, and from the sunlight zone closest to the surface, all the way down to the Hadal Zone, 6 – 11,000 km below sea level.
The tone is warm and conversational, posing and answering questions, encouraging readers to see themselves and act as real ocean explorers, and conveying the awe-inspiring wonder of its subjects. The design makes good use of die-cut pages and gatefolds to convey a huge amount of information.
We meet and learn about all sorts of marine creatures from bowhead whales in the Arctic Ocean to dugongs in the Pacific and each spread tells us more too about the oceans’ geography and environment and their movements.
A fascinating and inspiring guide to some of the least explored places on our planet.
