Alyce worries that her aging grandfather won't be able to take part in their annual outing in this heartwarming, exuberant picture book.
Alyce always looks forward to Free Museum Day with her grandpa. On that day every year, they tour as many museums as they can. But lately Grandpa is walking slower than he used to, and often needs a cane. Alyce worries that he won't be able to manage the outing, and so she tries to convince him to do something different, like see a play or go to a drive-in.
"But Free Museum Day only happens once a year," Grandpa keeps saying. And then, he shows up at her house with a big surprise-one that helps Alyce realize they'll be able to continue their favorite tradition after all.
