Six months after being betrayed by a certain smooth-talking boy and losing out on the ultimate prize, seventeen-year-old Ross Quest is annoyed.

No, pissed. But Devroe is like gum stuck to the bottom of her shoe. That is, if gum could smirk and flirt and make her feel butterflies in her stomach. Worst of all, they're now forced to work together. As they pull jobs all over the world, Devroe takes every opportunity to ply her with his charms, determined to earn her forgiveness-or so he says.

Despite Ross's best efforts to shut him down, she can't deny she still feels something for Devroe. But can she ever trust him again?

He could use the wish he won at the end of the last Gambit to wipe her entire family off the map at any time. No, Ross has learned her lesson: A Quest can only trust another Quest. Only she can save herself from a deadly wish coming true.

So when she lands dead center in a brewing battle for control of the Organization, Ross takes this chance to change her fortune and protect her family. A new Gambit is on to decide the Organization's next leader. Caught between two ruthless, power-hungry opponents, Ross strikes a deal. If she loses, she'll lose everything-including her life-so winning is the only play.
