"Valley of the Vikings is the tenth Emily Windsnap adventure and it has all the elements that fans
of this long running and much loved series will love."
Emily is ‘semi-mer’ - a girl on land and a mermaid in the water and the books follow her adventures from self discovery through to exciting escapades with mythical monsters and legendary beings.
Valley of the Vikings moves swiftly from Viking legend and strange discoveries of beautiful jewels, via Neptune’s magical castle to wonderful and literal world- saving escapades. There’s a cast of familiar and lovely characters - some human and some mer - with warm hearts and helping hands to support Emily as she swims through this roller coaster of an adventure.
Emily continues to be as brave, fearless and strong as she has been since we first met her in 2015 and in this story she manages to convince two warring and self-important gods to work together to change their ways and save the Earth from destruction.
This is a stand-alone story and it is possible to get the full sense of Emily’s history and the mermaid world she lives in without having read the other books, but those who know and love the previous adventures will find reading this book as comforting and uplifting as all of the others.
A rip-roaring adventure story of magic, myth and mermaids, featuring Liz Kessler's popular character Emily Windsnap.
Neptune and Thor battle for power and their fight upsets the balance of the world. Lightning strikes, curses fly and towering waves swallow a Viking longship and its crew into a watery valley, taking with it the secret of the magical blue crystals. A thousand years later, Emily, a girl who is half human, half mermaid, discovers a bangle with a mysterious and beautiful blue crystal. With the help of her human and mer friends, she discovers the truth about the jewel - and the danger the world faces. The team must race against time to persuade the powerful but notoriously selfish gods of sea and sky to make peace with each other, before disaster strikes.
'An electrifying return to Emily Windsnap’s world of mermaids. Magical and immersive with beautifully explored themes of friendship and power – you know you’re in the hands of a master storyteller.'" - A. F. Steadman, author of Skandar and the Unicorn Thief
