LoveReading4Kids Says
Poor scatterbrained little Pablo. Constantly misplacing things. Leaving things behind. Popping things in the most bizarre spots. Including his precious Mr Crunch. And his baseball cap. Several times. Oh and his marble collection, and his special water bottle. Oh and we can't forget his favourite dinosaur. His Mummy and Daddy would move heaven and earth to find them. Go to all sorts of trouble. Climbing, tunneling. And mostly they were found, but not always.
Pablo wasn't a good thing-finder. Easily distracted, he just didn't like searching for stuff. Why bother when his parents did it for him? Until they didn't. Until they sat him down one day and told him that he'd have to look for things by himself. Eek.
When his teacher announces show-and-tell, it's the impetus he needs to search. He can't find any of his favourite things. He needs help. And so Rocco the rock steps in to help him. Helps him find the lost toys. The Committee for Lost and Forgotten Things. Things that were fed up with being lost all of the time, who felt unwanted. Unloved. Lonely.
This is a glorious picture book full of love, humour and magic with an important message at its core. The vibrant, endearing illustrations are a delight with every detail captured. I loved it.
