15-year-old Arti is the daughter of noughties chart-topper, Sadie Sim - a blonde bombshell whose image filled every magazine and whose life dominated the gossip columns.

But while Sadie is sunshine and glamour, she's not so good at putting food on the table and Arti is used to being the only grown-up in the family. For years, she has kept her mum afloat and set aside her own chances of friendship and romance. Arti hopes to finally find both this summer, but when they return to Sadie's rundown hometown, Sadie becomes wilder and more turbulent than ever - and Arti has no idea why or how to help.
