Whale Song

Whale Song Synopsis

From the ocean's depths to a boat's deck to the spacecraft Voyager, join best-selling author Nicola Davies and award-winning illustrator Britta Teckentrup in celebrating the beauty and power of the humpback whale and its mysterious song.

The music of our aquatic neighbors, humpback whales, echoes through the ocean depths, stringing sounds together like beads on a necklace. With their whoops and wails, roars and whistles, the whales listen and learn, copying the distinctive patterns from one another-before making their own unique additions and spreading new songs across the seas.

Follow the lyrical story of one whale's spectacular song, at once mysterious and majestic, as it traverses the world's oceans. A note from the author describes the first time she was able to hear the humpback song in the wild, while an end note offers further details on how the whales' song is shared.
