For Michael and Mattie, growing up together includes all of the usual sibling stuff-riding the school bus for the first time, squabbling over the remote control, and learning to stand up for themselves. But the older they get, the more their paths start to diverge. Despite both being autistic, their experiences of life on the spectrum are very different.

Things that delight Mattie disgust or frustrate Michael (and vice versa!), often to comedic effect, and what feels easy to one brother might be nearly impossible for the other. Still, there's always something to bring them back together-even if it takes a while for them to get there.

Written with both humor and heart as a tribute to his brother, Michael McCreary offers an intimate first-person account of a bond that is both universal and unique. Tallulah Dumont brings the spirit of the story to life through heightened body language and facial expressions inspired by the illustrations of Michael Martchenko.
