Hippolyta is the Queen of the Amazons, a fierce race of warrior women. She wears a magic belt gifted by the God of War, which the demigod Heracles has been sent to steal. His friend Theseus, however, does more than steal - he kidnaps Hippolyta's sister Antiope.
At first, all Antiope wants is to return home, but she is soon torn by love for her newborn son. Hippolyta, meanwhile, will stop at nothing to get Antiope back. About The Greek Mythology Children's Collection: With so many Greek mythology retellings by authors like Maz Evans, Louie Stowell and Tom Vaughan, these faithful but child-friendly adaptations of the original epics show where the adventure and drama all began, including the origins of 'the face that launched a thousand ships', 'the Trojan Horse' and the 'Achilles heel'.
Set 2 of The Greek Mythology Children's Collection features ten more tales of gods, mortals and monsters. Readers will meet famous heroes and heroines as they face infamous foes, impossible quests and endless wars. All this and more is brought to life with vivid illustrations, accessible language and FREE audiobooks (QR codes inside).
