'Why Don't Guinea Pigs Have Tails?' was written as a poem for the author's two granddaughters, Lauren and Jessica and tragically inspired by the death of his daughter. Gerry Lane wanted to ensure that his granddaughters knew that they were loved and cherished by the family around them.
