About the Illustrator

Stephen Biesty loves history, architecture and drawing. These three interests led to his first book for children, the internationally bestselling Stephen Biesty's Incredible Cross-sections. Published in 1992, it has gone on to sell over a million copies worldwide and been published in 16 countries; his other books include The Story of Buildings, Great Explorers, Incredible Explosions and Rome: In Spectacular Cross-section. He has won many prestigious awards for his work, including the New York Times Best Illustrated Book Award and the UKLA Children's Book Award. He lives in Somerset.
