Rockstar Detectives

I loved reading this book. This was a particularly good crime novel and funny at the same time. I was hooked from start to finish.

I found this book good because it left a lot of clues to make you think it was one person when the actual culprit is hidden in plain sight. At the climax it distracts you away from the actual culprit by making you think the detectives think it is someone it is not. It was written very well and was also quite funny. It has lots of plot twists and I could not guess who the thief was until one of the last clues were placed. It was a particularly good crime novel and funny at the same time. I was hooked from start to finish. I started reading and I couldn’t stop until I finished the entire book. I thought it was very clever to incorporate two entirely different things (rockstars and detectives) into one thing (rockstar detectives). All in all, it was a very good crime comedy.

Children age 7+ who like detective stories or rock star stories would like this book. While on tour Charley and George find themselves in trouble with the police when they are accused of stealing pieces from museums in every city they visit. There are lots of twists and surprises!

The main characters in this book are Charley and George. Charley is an upcoming rockstar and she is only twelve. George is her best friend and he goes with her on tour to support her. I liked the characters in this book because they are friendly and help each other.

Rock Star Detectives is a compelling story that has lots of exciting twists and turns and lots of surprises that add to the adventure. This story also shows how anyone, even children and disabled people, can achieve great things.

I love the way Charley and George carry on touring even though they are prime suspects and, instead of proving themselves innocent they try to hunt out the guilty. The main characters have so much courage yet have very human personalities. My favourite aspect of the characters is that every suspect that is accused but is actually innocent has some sort of explanation that proves, no matter how good you think the outcome of doing something bad is, it most likely won’t be worth it. Overall, the mystery fits together nicely like a jigsaw, with George and Charley putting together the pieces. Despite the fun plot, at some points the situation was a bit hard to understand but I did figure it out eventually.

Overall, I think this book is very inspiring and fun to read and I would definitely recommend it. Now, I am hoping for another book, creating a series.

It is a very funny book and very interesting.

Charley and George are best friends. Charley is a viral singing sensation and George is a camera whizz.
They are trying to prove they aren’t criminals. In the spotlight for the wrong reason.
They are a young detective duo.
A priceless painting goes missing they are shocked they become suspects.
Can they solve the crimes to save themselves. There are a lot of clues in the book aiming at one person but it isn’t them.
It is a very funny book and very interesting. I had to keep reading the book to read the clues. I enjoyed the puzzles and solving everything.
Charley & George are very good at solving the puzzles and putting the pieces together.

A fast paced thrilling adventure to discover the truth ...

This book is about 12 year old Charley Parker, a world famous Rockstar, and her best friend George, a budding comedian. George introduced the world to Charley by secretly videoing her and then uploading it online, leading to her becoming a worldwide hit. She goes on tour, but there is a problem … Charley and George are in trouble. Because they are missing school, at each new place they stop on the tour, they both have to study a famous piece of art. But the pieces of art mysteriously go missing and it’s made to look like it is Charley and George. They are being framed, but by who? Will Charley and George be able to figure out who it is and reveal the truth or will people believe it’s them? There are a number of potential suspects, but it will take a lot of work to unmask the true criminal and find out why they are framing Charley and George. I enjoyed this book a lot, it was funny, entertaining and I stayed up late reading it under the covers. I loved the pictures in the book and the two main characters are very likable and living the dream of being children on a worldwide tour. I can’t wait to read their next adventure ….

This is such a great story and so full of suspense. I never knew what was going to happen next and it made me want to keep reading to find out if they were going to solve the mystery.

If you like solving mysteries, then Rock Star Detectives by Adam Hills is a great book for you to read! It’s all about two 12-year old best friends - Charley the Rockstar and George, a cameraman and wanna be comedian, who are framed for some very serious thefts happening all around Europe. With even the police thinking they did it, the only way to get out of this is to solve the clues and find out who actually committed the crimes themselves.

This is such a great story and so full of suspense. I never knew what was going to happen next and it made me want to keep reading to find out if they were going to solve the mystery. I was so shocked to discover who the master thief was at the end – I never would have guessed!

I really liked the characters and thought they were very well developed. Charley is amazingly talented and even though she is super famous, she is still a really nice, friendly kid. George is so funny, and I think that he will be just as famous as Charley when he grows up! I would love to be friends with Charley and George in real life, they both seem really cool.

I hope that Adam Hills writes more books and I would like to see Charley and George go on more adventures – but hopefully they won’t get framed for any more thefts!

I would definitely recommend this book to kids who like reading mysteries. If you are a kid that doesn’t really like to read, this book is so mysterious and funny that it will get you interested in reading!
