Ellery Brown is on an epic search for her dad, but will she find out who he is after all this time?

This book was extremely captivating and mysterious. I loved following Ellery’s story through her diary as she goes on an epic mission to discover who her father is after the tragic death of her mother. This novel kept me guessing right to the very end and I would definitely recommend it to 10-14 year olds especially those that liked The Extremely Embarrassing Life of Lottie Brooks. I particularly enjoyed reading about Ellery’s best friend Meg and all her clever ideas and plans.

Exciting, intriguing, and overall, brilliant. A story of the family, friendship, love and finding your happy ending.

This book is about a girl called Ellery, who has recently lost her mother. When her grandmother decides to sell the house, Ellery suddenly has a new lead to follow in the quest to find her father. Her best friend, Megan (Megster), helps her to find out when and where her potential fathers will be. Will Ellery follow all these leads? Will she find her father? These are only two of loads of questions that flood your head when you are reading this. These questions are only satisfied with answers at the very end. This book was amazing and, although, there were some points where I thought that she made the wrong decisions, I absolutely loved this book. It was exciting, intriguing, and overall, brilliant. It told the story of the family, friendship, love and finding your happy ending. Maybe Ellery has finally found her happy ending, or it could still be to come.

This is a truly great read and I honestly can't wait for the next instalments. The diary was written so that you believed you were there every step of the way.

I loved this book. It is set in Ireland and I am half Irish and visit there often so a lot of the words and phrases used were familiar to me, but I loved the parts where she tried to explain them.
This book is really funny in places buy in others it almost had me in tears. It's the diary of Ellery Brown, who has recently lost her mum who was a famous author. Ellery is being looked after by her grandmother and her aunt, but she decides she really wants to find out who her dad is.
A lot of this story is a bit far-fetched, like she manages to get planes on her own to other countries and stay in £500 a night hotels 'accidently', but if you ignore all that and just totally go with the story it's fantastic!
Ellery Brown is a wonderful character and you get totally enveloped in her world. I honestly couldn't put it down. I just kept saying to myself 'one more entry' as I whizzed through the year.
A fabulous read. Get this book. You won't regret it. Well you might, but only because then you'll be hyped up waiting for the next installment!
