Great for science fans from age 10 upwards but I think it's best to have adult help to talk through the ideas.
This is the sort of book that you can read a little at a time and I think it would be good if you'd learnt about the subject in science lessons. I did find some of it a bit confusing and there's some stuff that you can't really get your head around, but there were some cool facts about earth and space. The pictures are good and you don't feel like you are being talked down to by the authors. I loved the chapter about Dark Matter as it was sooo interesting!
There is also a helpful glossary at the end to explain words.
I think this is good for children like me at the end of primary school if they are really interested in science but probably more for the start of secondary school as some of it is mind-blowing.
Five stars for this really interesting science book. It’s packed full of lots of interesting facts about the universe and it is well illustrated. Definitely worth reading!
I really enjoyed this book. It’s a really interesting science fact book filled to the brim with information and answers to all sorts of questions such as “how does gravity work?” and “what is an atom?”
My favourite section was “The Big Bang”.
I would recommend this book for any children who are interested in widening their knowledge about science and the universe.
The illustrations on every page are really clear and well designed so that the text doesn’t become overwhelming.
Five stars.

I loved the detailed explanations. I thought the comparisons the author made were very innovative and helped keep the reader engaged. I found the diagrams very useful as it gave me a thorough understanding. I thought it was well organised into categories of subjects. The language used was informal and enables children to understand its concept easily.
This is an incredible book for inquisitive little minds.
Ten extraordinary ideas that shaped our universe, from black holes to the Big Bang. This incredible book is perfect for inquisitive young minds. It is engaging, encourages learning, and the wonderful illustrations truly highlight the beauty of reading. My son hasn’t put it down and has impressed his teachers with all the knowledge he has gained. I would give it a 10/10!
