Books By Tony, Parker-rees, Guy Mitton - Author

Tony lives in Cambridge with his wife and two children. He was born in Tripoli, North Africa and spent his childhood in Africa, Germany and Hong Kong.
Tony completed a BA in English at Cambridge University before becoming a primary school teacher. He recently gave up teaching to concentrate entirely on being a children's poet and storywriter. His other writing includes: three poetry collections for Scholastic, five titles in the Walker Flip-Flap series, the Kingfisher Amazing Machines series and many other titles for school reading schemes as well as poems in numerous anthologies.
Tony's Raps series has been greeted with much enthusiasm and enjoyment by adults and children alike. These rollicking rhymes retell well-known stories and myths in a thoroughly original way. Spookyrumpus won the picture book category of the Sheffield Children's Book Award and the fun continues with a crazy alien tea-party in Come to Tea in Planet Zum-Zee.

Tony's latest collaboration with illustrator, Guy Parker-Rees is All Afloat on Noah's Boat, a vibrant rhyming romp based on the traditional bible story.

Guy Parker-Rees lives and works in Brighton. He was born in Zimbabwe and came to England when he was three. He gained a degree in English and Philosophy at York University before going on to found "Art Attack", a mural painting co-operative running workshops and play schemes. His next career move was to work as an Art and Crafts teacher at a Cardiff Hospital, working with people with learning difficulties. He then went on to set up an Art Therapy Department, for people with mental health problems.
Since 1989, Guy has been a freelance illustrator, working mainly on children's books - he has illustrated over forty to date. His first book, No Such Thing As Monsters, was published by David Bennett Books in 1993. Since then he has written and illustrated books for Oxford University Press, Hodder Children's Books, Scholastic, Bloomsbury, Egmont, Random House, Walker Books, Heinemann, Ladybird and Orchard Books.
