May 2015 Picture Book of the Month One of the best ways to get to know another culture to your own is through its food. In his book photographer and founder of the World Food Café Chris Caldicott uses the format of the alphabet book to look at the ways children and families across the world gather, cook and consume food, featuring a variety of the ingredients that we all use, from apricot to zucchini. His photographs are beautiful and, accompanied by short, informative paragraphs of text, illuminate the lives of the people in them. This book is a wonderful way to make children think about food, the way it is produced, and about their own place in the world. ~ Andrea Reece
