This is a perfect book for new parents, though it will make any parent laugh, no matter the age of their offspring! King Baby is a tiny tyrant! From his cot he commands his subjects, an increasingly frazzled looking mum and dad, demanding that his every whim be met, and graciously accepting the worship of all around, benevolently bestowing smiles and kisses in return.
The incongruity of the appearance of baby, an egg-like blob, and the extent of his power is very funny, as is his obliviousness to the unreasonableness of his demands. It’s very true, and simply hilarious! In a lovely twist at the end King Baby, now a big boy, hands over his crown to his little sister, Queen Baby. ~ Andrea Reece

About Kate Beaton
Kate Beaton was born in Nova Scotia, Canada, studied history and anthropology at Mount Allison University and worked in a museum before beginning her web comic Hark! A Vagrant in 2007, which now receives around 1.2 million hits each month. Her collection by that title debuted at #1 on the New York Times bestseller list in 2011, and was named one of Time Magazine's Best Books of the year in 2012. Her work has been featured in the New Yorker and in the Guardian. She now lives in Toronto.
