In a stunt to promote world peace just before the outbreak of World War Two, twelve young pilots take to the air. Taking off from Salisbury they loop round Europe travelling through Brussels, Geneva, Venice, Prague, Hamburg and Amsterdam before completion of the circuit in Paris.

Stella North, aged just 17, who is representing Great Britain, is the only female competitor. She knows she is as skilful and as fearless as her male opponents. And she has a very special reason to be determined to win!

Stella is as British as anyone but her passport defines her as stateless. The stakes and the tension are high. And that’s before Stella is the only witness when another competitor dies. The organisers claim that it was an accident. Only Sheila knows the truth!
