The fast-paced conclusion to the magical Lucky Diamond trilogy As the conclusion of the Lucky Diamond trilogy, I would recommend starting this series with book one, ‘The Lucky Diamond', then book two ‘The Revenge of Queen Rose’. Queen Rose has been defeated and twins Cathy and Alan are invited to take part in the cleansing of the land on their eleventh birthday.
But all is not what it seems, and when their home is attacked and they are taken, the twins will have to fight against the evil remaining in the forest, their captors and even each other. Meanwhile their siblings Vicky and Susan, along with Prince Paul set out on a tour of the mountain regions that goes awry when they encounter a deserted town.
The split narrative means that there is a lot packed into this magical adventure story. The siblings and their magical items continue to develop but there’s a sense that they haven’t reached the peak of their abilities yet. I compared the previous two books to The Chronicles of Narnia and that comparison still stands.
I think that this is an action-packed fantasy adventure that will entice middle grade readers and while this storyline is completed there’s the possibility that readers could return to Lowdar in the future.
