"A funny, poignant and heart-warming adventure with an adorable protagonist"
There’s a truly adorable - and inspirational – protagonist in Michelle Robinson and Deborah Allwright’s new picture book.
Hector Voltaire is someone who believes in the wonderful, no matter how much the other children tease him, and he’s ready to go looking for it. Top of his to-find list is the Thunk, blue-ish-pink fur, a trunk, highly pungent odour, and ‘ever so slightly, completely extinct’, if they ever existed at all that is.
Opinion is divided on that, but Hector is undeterred, indeed, even driven on by the rest of the world’s scepticism. As a reward, he gets the best happy-every-after a boy like him could want.
Funny, poignant, uplifting, with a rhyming text that is a joy to read aloud, this is a story to warm the hearts of all readers.
Meet Hector Voltaire: a young explorer who can't wait to discover all the wonders of the wide world. First up: a magical, mythical creature called the THUNK.
