Namely, the unleashing of an ancient curse, possessed townsfolk, 17th -century witch trials, and a trio of latter-day child ghost hunters on whose courageous shoulders it falls to save the day.  

This third book in The Ghost Hunter Chronicles series sees Eve, Clovis and Tom embroiled in a fresh adventure when a new family moves to Pendle, where Witch Trials took place back in 1612. Their cottage is atmospherically evoked, with a sense of impending spookiness. “Locals said the place was cursed, haunted even, by the ghosts of a family”, and then one of newcomer children finds himself singing a strange song about “Witches in the garden/ Witches in the tree.”  

When the spirits of women accused of witchcraft are released, a battle breaks out with the descendants of those responsible for the witch trials. Certainly the Ghost Hunters’ biggest challenge to date, The Witches of Pendle will have fans of ghost stories and spooky mysteries in its atmospheric, suspenseful thrall.
