"More wonderfully horrible adventures for The Twits."
The Twits are some of Roald Dahl’s most deliciously awful creations, indeed they glory in their filthy, nasty, brutish irredeemable awfulness. Now they’re back and just as horrible in this new adventure written by Greg James and Chris Smith which brings them into reluctant contact with two of the loveliest people you could ever meet, and their children (fortunately, not quite as lovely). Could forced niceness including better beer and underpants that set you dancing transform these uber-villains into better people?
Readers will be relieved to hear that the answer is, ‘No!’ and the Twits remain resolutely, subversively horrible.
There’s lots of fun to be had in this new story and the authors understand exactly what it is about Dahl’s writing and these characters in particular that makes the original book so irresistible to readers. Who wouldn’t want to spend more time being repulsed by the Twits?

I really loved reading The Twits Next Door! It was such a great book that I couldn’t put it down once I started. The story was funny and exciting. I liked the way the characters were written – they made me laugh and sometimes shocked me with the things they did! The book kept me hooked the whole way through, and I think lots of other children my age would enjoy it too. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who likes stories that are a bit silly, a bit mischievous and fun.
I recently read The Twits Next Door and I absolutely loved it! From the very first page it was so funny and clever that I really didn’t want to put it down. The story was packed with mischief, silliness and lots of unexpected twists that kept me laughing and guessing what would happen next.
The book is written by Greg James and Chris Smith, and I think they did an amazing job. Their writing is really exciting and easy to follow, and it made the characters come alive in my head. Some parts were so silly that I couldn’t stop giggling.
After enjoying this book so much, I decided to read more stories by Greg James and Chris Smith and I’ve loved those too.... Read Full Review
When the Lovelies move in next door to the Twits, their cheeriness and deliberate niceness drive Mr & Mrs Twit mad. What's worse, Mrs Twit is sure she knows Mrs Lovely, but she can't remember where from...a really funny book that will be loved by fans of Greg James and Chris Smith.
The Twits Next Door is about the Twits leading their everyday lives, when suddenly a new family moves in next door.
The new family is called the Lovelies, and they are the opposite of the Twits in every way, for instance, the Lovelies love the colour yellow, while the Twits hate colour, the Lovelies are 'glass-half-full' kinds of people and the Twits don't acknowledge the existence of the glass in the first place.
However, Mrs Twit thinks she recognises Mrs Lovely, but she can't quite remember where from...
Mr & Mrs Twit start to plan together (highly unusual) to make the Lovelies leave to stop them disrupting their daily horrible lives with cheeriness and deliberate niceness.
I give this book 5 stars, it is a great read for people who like funny books and anyone who likes the books of... Read Full Review
This book flies off the page - five out of five stars!
I loved the descriptions, they were truly horrible. I enjoyed the trick ending and Russ and Tumble's names, also the tricks like the wasp toilet and the hairy warts / caterpillars were really silly. The lovely code was brilliant, be lovely at all times to everybody, give everybody a lovely day and everybody is lovely underneath. All the inventions are fun, I liked how at the end Mr Twit swears to catch birds and make them into pie like he does in Roald Dahl's book The Twits. I also love that the big dead tree survives in this book as well. Finally I have to mention the silly little story at the end - I loved it.... Read Full Review
