"Little mouse’s epic journey through the beating rain is cute, energetic and heart-warming – perfect for rainy days."
Mouse is heading home with a present for somebody special when they're caught in a rainstorm. As mouse is blown around and nearly swept away it seems they'll never get home and certainly not with the present intact. Finally though, the welcoming glow of home appears and there's somebody special in the doorway waiting to greet them.
This charming picture book perfectly captures the surprise and distress of being caught in the rain. The deceptively simple appearing illustrations contain masses of movement, so much so that it’s almost possible to feel the raindrops splattering on your shoulders. Excellent use of white space is made throughout, which makes the more colourful flood pages all the more dramatic. Whilst the cosy ending feels just like wrapping up in a fire-warmed blanket.
With a delightful mix of minor peril and unquestionable cuteness Raindrops is the ideal book to share on rainy days. Perfect for fans of Bob Graham and Ross Collins.
