This is an enjoyable book with 10 short stories about twins Max and Maisie who like to solve every day mysteries that come up in their village of Chadmouth. Young readers up to about age 12 will enjoy trying to solve the cases alongside them. Using some common sense and by carefully reading the story to find the clues or issues that stand out, readers will be able to test their own detective skills.
I have to admit, one has to be very observant to find the answers! The author has provided an option to skip to the solution once you have read the story. It's fun to turn to the relevant page and see how close one was to the correct answer ! The book will encourage youngsters to be observant and will allow them to enjoy reading detective stories instead of just watching detective shows on TV.
It will also help to develop their critical/ logical thinking and problem solving skills, all useful life skills.
