I found The Empyrean Prism to be a well-paced story that is entertaining throughout. In the opening chapters we witness a pivotal event unfold, then we jump ahead toWylie at 11, just wanting to be noticed by anyone. I felt for Wylie’s feelings of isolation and was excited for him to go on an adventure when he stumbles across a strange door in the wall, a dramatic explosion and an encounter with the mysterious Frank.
The Empyrean Prism is filled with surprises, intriguing locations and funny new characters, friendships forged and magical twists that will keep middle grade readers hooked.
The audiobook quality is good, the narrator brought the different characters to life and their voice was energetic and helped to make the story even more engaging. There seems to be more in store for Wylie, with plenty more to about him and his abilities to be revealed. This could be the start of an exciting new series.
