Not so very long ago, Eragon was nothing more than a poor farm boy, and his dragon, Saphira, only a blue stone in the forest. Now, the fate of an entire civilisation rests on their shoulders in this stunning book which brings the bestselling Inheritance cycle to a breathtaking conclusion. Long months of training and battle have brought victories and hope, but they have also brought heartbreaking loss. Featuring spectacular artwork by cult artist John Jude Palencar.

Still the real battle lies ahead: Eragon and Saphira must confront Galbatorix. When they do, they will have to be strong enough to defeat him. And if they cannot, no one can. There will be no second chances. The Rider and his dragon have come farther than anyone dared to hope. But can they topple the evil king and restore justice to Alagaesia? And if so, at what cost?
Random House Children's Books MD Philippa Dickinson: "We are extremely proud and excited to be publishing Inheritance. Christopher Paolini's books are an incredible worldwide phenomenon and readers have been eagerly awaiting the final instalment in the cycle."
When Christopher Paolini began writing the Inheritance Cycle series, he was just 15 years old. A lot has changed in the 13 years since. The biggest change, of course, is that Eragon, the first book in the series, became a worldwide bestseller, not to mention a blockbuster film. Not to be outdone, Paolini went on to write Eldest, the second in the series, and Brisingr, the third. They also became bestsellers around the world, and on 8th November Inheritance, the fourth and final book in the series, will be released to much fanfare.
