To dip in and out of whatever your mood and to savour in longer moments, this is a thought-provoking anthology. How different poems capture different moods and moments unfolds beautifully in both Wendy Cooling’s careful choice of poems and Piet Grobler’s vivid illustrations.
Age 7+ poetry. Amazing, bored, excited, magical, naughty, sad, zestful! You can feel any way you like in this exciting collection of poems about feelings from A to Z. This is the third in a highly acclaimed series edited by Wendy Cooling – following All the Colours of the Earth and All the Wild Wonders. It will be welcomed by teachers and librarians as it is ideal for initiating discussion about feelings.
Exploring all kinds of moods and emotions, the poems in this book are by a stellar and culturally diverse group of poets, including Siegfried Sassoon, Carol Ann Duffy, Benjamin Zephaniah, Grace Nichols, John Agard, Jack Prelutsky, Kwame Dawes, Raymond McCormack, EE Cummings, Kit Wright and Michael Rosen. With atmospheric, luminous illustrations on every page.
Selected by Marilyn Brocklehurst as an August highlight in The Bookseller: ' A lovely production ...This will be a popular book with teachers, and a lovely book for children to own. Piet Grobler's splashy illustrations complement the poems perfectly.’
