This is special because the author (Bernette Ford) has had a long and distinguished career in New York publishing and the illustrator (Tom Knight) is just starting out in picture books. They make a strong team! Bernette Ford's retelling gets right to the heart of the story and tells it perfectly for this age group. Her language is deceptively simple and draws in the reader. I knew she would bring a new voice to Red Riding Hood. Tom Knight, the illustrator hits just the right tone of character and colour. I love a good team!
