The classic character Mildred Hubble, the most disaster-prone young witch at Miss Cackle’s Academy for Witches is back with a wonderful new adventure to celebrate 40 years since she first started at the school! It’s the beginning of a new term; Mildred and her friends are impressed by Miss Drill, their new, almost trendy form tutor.
She’s certainly very different from Miss Cackle and Miss Hardbroom who have been running the school. When Miss Drill announces a very special competition which will be looking for star quality, everyone is very keen to enter! Can Mildred and the lovely little dog who surprisingly arrives to help her succeed or will the usual kinds of disasters befall her? A hugely entertaining story with wonderful illustrations, too.
In addition to our Lovereading expert opinion for The Worst Witch And The Wishing Star a small number of children were lucky enough to be invited to review this title. Here's a taster....'I love the Worst Witch books, and really really enjoyed this one too! A must read!' - Matilda Greenacre
