June 2023 Book of the Month
Did you know that Goldilocks had a dog? Well, according to Michael Rosen she did, and in this story, gorgeously illustrated by David Melling, they go for a walk to see if they can find that house, you know, the one with the porridge, and the beds and the bears …
They don’t find it, but they do reach the sea and it hear it singing, and then they discover someone else’s house, with another set of chairs and breakfasts to try out.
Children will love this funny and imaginative take on a favourite fairy tale and Michael Rosen’s text offers lots of We’re Going on a Bear Hunt style word games and recite-along fun.
Rosen and Melling make a perfect double act, and grown-ups can look forward to reading this many times, as they’re certain to be asked to do.

Goldilocks and the Three Crocodiles Synopsis
A fabulously funny take on a classic story from two giants of children's books!
Goldilocks and her little dog are off on an adventure, looking for that house again - the one with the chairs, the porridge and beds. The sound of the sea calls to them and before they know it, they have found quite a different sort of a house . . . there are bowls, and chairs and sort-of beds . . . plus some rather unexpected and hilarious inhabitants!
From Michael Rosen, the highly regarded author of We're Going on a Bear Hunt, comes this wonderful new take on the famous nursery rhyme, brilliantly brought to life by David Melling, the creator of Hugless Douglas.

Michael Rosen on Michael Rosen:
I grew up in the London suburb of Pinner, a place my parents often wondered about. How had we landed there? My parents were teachers, politically committed (socialists), and great storytellers and readers. I was lucky to have found them.
Most of my adult life, I've been a freelance writer, teacher (of sorts), journalist, performer and broadcaster. I visit schools doing my one-man show, and support Arsenal Football Club.
I have often written about my life and family, but I also write occasional fantasy (usually based in a real place) and non-fiction.
