First Reading: Level Four. The classic fable retold with simple text for children just beginning to read. Building readers’ stamina still further with all 48 pages devoted to the story (up to 750 words). The narrative is more developed, there is more text on the page, and sentence structure and vocabulary are more descriptive. Original fiction, folk tales and fairytales coupled with terrific illustrations will provide plenty of variety for the reader.
