"In a nutshell: nonstop surprises in the Big City"
This is the fourth adventure for Ottoline and her best friend Mr Munroe, and it is every bit as enchanting, witty and surprising as the first. The emphasis is on friendship in this story: with her parents still roving the world for interesting items to add to their ever-growing collection of objects, Ottoline holds a dinner party.
Guests include the dashing Purple Fox, a new friend, who has introduced Ottoline to some of the city’s most exciting inhabitants and hidden secrets. She’s able to repay him by drawing his attention to something lovely that he’s failed to see. Chris Riddell’s illustrations are as dazzling as ever; it’s worth lingering over every page to revel in the fluency of his line and to look out for the myriad little details. Ottoline is a delight for readers of all ages.

A fun, fresh cover look for the fourth title in Chris Riddell's excellent Ottoline series. Packed with gorgeous black-and-white illustrations throughout, Ottoline and the Purple Fox is perfect for kids aged 7+!

A crazy adventure book
I really enjoyed this book! It has lots of interesting words, like lollygagging, which made it fun to read.
The story follows Ottoline as she tries to throw a tea party and ends up meeting lots of strange and wonderful creature, like Mr. Munroe, a really hairy thing!
Along the way, they meet a purple fox who lives in a bin. He introduces them to loads of amazing animals, and we also learn about his assistant, the Crimson Fox.
The book is beautifully illustrated, and the descriptions are so amazing that it feels like you’re right there in the story. If you love crazy adventures, I would definitely recommend this book!
Even though this is the fourth book in the series, it still makes perfect sense, to readers like me who haven’t read the first three.... Read Full Review
