"A properly magical new adventure. "
Felix has known he’s different since he was eleven and his Grandad Jim started warning him about terrible events that hadn’t happened yet. The fact that Grandad Jim died years ago makes this even more unsettling.
Trying to alert people to catastrophes about to befall them doesn’t win Felix any friends, and life at home with his grandma is sad since his parents were killed in an accident (also foreseen by Grandad Jim). Things get worse when he’s threatened with expulsion from school, but salvation arrives in the form of a young woman who tells him she can see into the future too. Soon, Felix is enrolled in a new school, which turns out to be a cover for the amazing Future Agency, which is full of people like him. Learning how to use his powers, how to connect with his celestaur (magical animal partner), and finding his way through secret tunnels that run under London is as thrilling for readers as it is for Felix, and details like fairy cakes that fly, or cups of tea that taste of burger and chips or knickerbocker glory add an extra level of deliciousness (the proof of a magical world is always in the eating!), but the arrival of a truly terrifying spectre takes everything darker. Can Felix protect his new friends from an ancient evil?
Mixing the world of the imagination with some mind-expanding bits of history (did you know the British Premonition Bureau was a real thing?) this is an involving and original magical adventure with some particularly exciting distinguishing features.
