Midsummer Ruin

Midsummer Ruin Synopsis

A teenage death in mysterious circumstances. A village famed for folklore rituals. Heartbroken best friends uncovering the darkest of secrets. . .
17-year-old Una lives in Haligmere, an idyllic 'lucky' village surrounded by ancient woods, protected by folklore for centuries. It's a tourist destination for believers in superstition, ghosts, faerie magic and nature spirits, and every season the locals dutifully re-enact the rituals of the past.
Many truly believe, but Una cannot. Because six months ago, on winter solstice, Una's best friend Charlotte died, and no faerie protection or 'luck' stopped that. The bitter consequences of Charlotte's death casts a shadow over everything Una sees, including her complicated relationship with on-off girlfriend, Rheda.
As midsummer approaches, disturbing acts of sabotage threaten ominous signs of darker secrets unravelling. For no one escapes when death writes your name. . .
A stunningly atmospheric YA folklore thriller for fans of A.B. Poranek, House of Hollow and Tess Sharpe.
