"Mark Vogl has given us much more than a parody of the classic Christmas poem. He has infused his version with the spirit of the Confederate soldier, who gladly makes yet another sacrifice for the good of his country. Stephanie Ford's illustrations are stunning in their authenticity and beauty." --Charles H.
Hayes, author of Civil War Limericks Originally published as a Christmas greeting, this narrative poem is reminiscent of events documented during the war and serves as a testament to the best of human nature during a trying time for all. Illustrator Stephanie Ford relies on historic evidence and her own knowledge of Civil War camp life to visually enhance Vogl's poem.
