In a nutshell: look into the pages for hypnotising adventure!
Georgia Byng’s story of the young girl who manages to swap a miserable life in an orphanage for the bright lights, fame and fortune of Broadway through her incredible talent for hypnotism has long been a favourite with readers. A larger-than-life story with all the ingredients of the page-turner including wicked villains, likeable heroine and fast-moving, fantastical plotline, it’s surprising that only now, some years after publication, has it been turned into a film. There’s more to Molly Moon than action and adventure however, and the novel cleverly poses questions about belonging, and the need for inner as well as outer transformation. Read the book before or after seeing the film. ~ Andrea Reece
