The Little Colonel's Christmas Vacation

The Little Colonel's Christmas Vacation Synopsis

The vivacious Lloyd Sherman, better remembered
as the Little Colonel, is growing up. As usual, this process brings both
pleasure and pain into her life. In this book Lloyd's adventures lead her,
along with her best friends, to Warwick Hall, a lovely old boarding school in
Washington, D.C., where they will have wonderful times together. When Christmas
break comes along, Lloyd and her friends are filled with excitement over all of
the parties and dances that they will attend. Christmas break is sure to bring
Lloyd happiness, but with it also comes painful disappointment. Will she ever
be allowed to return to her beloved friends and school?
Annie Fellows Johnston skillfully recreates the difficulties and joys that
are a part of becoming a woman. For generations (starting with The Little
Colonel , also published by Pelican), the adventures of Lloyd Sherman
and her fun-loving friends have won readers' hearts. The Little Colonel stories
prove that although times have changed, essential human qualities have not.
