All About Sir Edmund Hillary Synopsis

Ages 9 to 13 years. Explorer and adventurer, Sir Edmund Hillary, spent his life climbing the tallest mountains in the world. He loved to explore and that passion would lead to great accomplishments.

In 1953, Sir Edmund Hillary and his Sherpa climbing partner, Tenzing Norgay, reached the top of Mount Everest, the tallest mountain in the world. No one before them had succeeded, in reaching the peak. Edmund and Tenzing were credited with being the first people on Earth to conquer Mount Everest.

After his adventures, he established the Himalayan Trust to donate money to the impoverished country of Nepal to build schools and hospitals.
