I liked the art style and how each page stood out.
The message of this book is really important, particularly for young black girls who I hope realise that they and their hair are special. It is certainly a book I'd give to a reception or Y1 class, or possibly use as a hook for a Y4-6 class to discuss issues surrounding race and identity.
However, although the message of this book is really important, unlike another of her books 'Curves Like Mine'. This book didn't really have a storyline, it was just a girl talking about her hair, why her hair is magic, and all the different styles she can put her hair into.... Read Full Review
