Best friends Knutz and Boltz the (talking) dog are horrified when their favourite vlogger aka the Sorcerer of Science is taken prisoner by someone calling themselves Dr Chaos.
They decide they’ll make their way to her home straightaway and rescue her. Working out the whereabouts of the Mansion of Mayhem from co-ordinates she’s managed to tap out while tied up is the first of many puzzles they have to solve. Readers get to pit their wits against Dr Chaos too in the different STEAM-themed challenges that must be overcome to reach the kidnapped scientist. Knutz and Boltz make great companions along the way and the story is every bit as satisfying to read as the puzzles are to solve.
If you’re baffled by any of the puzzles, the answers are all at the back of the book with encouragement to have a peek and then work out who you could have got to the solution yourself. There’s also a glossary of useful words and some bonus games to test those new STEAM skills further. Genuine mind-expanding fun!
