Breaking the Circle is a highly-charged adventure which unflinchingly captures the dangers of the shadowy world of illegal immigration and drug dealing. When Maya is mugged on the way home from school she finds herself inextricably involved with her muggers and especially with Kay who, despite her role, also seems to be a victim.
