Louisa May Alcott's Little Women

Louisa May Alcott's Little Women Synopsis

Enter the cosy, creative and colourful world of the March sisters as they each negotiate the path from childhood to womanhood.

Meet beautiful, traditional and kind Meg; Jo, the rebellious tomboy writer; gentle and shy peacemaker Beth; and feisty artist Amy, the baby of the family. The girls live in Massachusetts with their adored mother Marmee, in genteel poverty, while their father is far away fighting in the American Civil War.

As the story unfolds, the girls meet new characters and must face the challenges and opportunities life will hold for them, including marriage, work, domesticity and education. Travel with Meg, Jo, Beth and Amy as they leave girlhood behind to become little women, in this classic of American realism that has become a perennial favourite for readers of all ages.
