LoveReading4Kids Says

A dynamic illustration shows Kya climbing the walls when she declares to her Nana she needs something to do. Nana suggests a walk on the beach learning about sea biscuits, molting crabs, sea stars, kelp and more. Showing that we’re all connected to nature, this picture book highlights the fascinating things to be found in nature around us, if we slow down enough to notice it.

Slow Days is an easy to read picture book filled with lovely illustrations of the seaside, and the creatures that Kya and Nana find there. The loving relationship between Kya and Nana is sweet, and although this is a book about slowing down and noticing things around you, Kya’s curiosity and enthusiasm bubbles off the page and brings energy to the story.

This is a relaxing and calming story that I think will appeal to young children and it’s especially great to read with grandparents. It’s a sweet and loving story that highlights the nature found at the seaside and the joys that can be found in gentle, slow days.
