February 2015 Book of the Month
Beautiful illustrations make this witty book of ‘heads, bodies and legs’ a delight. What starts as a Platypus can be swiftly altered into a ‘Tratypus’ or a ‘Tratysh’ while a regular Opossum with its sweet young on its back can become and unlikely-looking Gotossum with a remarkably green face! The extensive number of choices that can be created makes this a very satisfying book.
As you can see from the photo our young reviewer, Ben, loved it.

About
Remarkable Animals Synopsis
Remarkable Animals is one of the most ingenious mix-and-match books ever devised. Based on ten real-life animals, each described in words as well as pictures, it offers 1,000 fantastic variations.
Just flip the pages and see ten remarkable animals become 1,000 crazy creatures, taking on new names and astonishing new identities as their heads, bodies and tails are swapped around.
Devised and brilliantly executed by master-artist Tony Meeuwissen, this is a book that will be treasured by readers of all ages.

Tony Meeuwissen Press Reviews
With a magical world to get lost in, and exotic names to relish, this fabulously inventive book will grab children of all ages. Independent
This is clever stuff, beautiful and great fun. Guardian
By far the best of recent picture books. The animals look as if they were the wild imaginings of a 16th century explorer whose brain was addled by too many years in the tropics. Mensa Quest
Great for tweaking even the most timid imagination. School Library Journal
Clever and eye-catching - 1000 fantastic combinations with outlandish descriptions. Sunday Times 5 stars
Brilliant fun, choose which flaops to lift and create brand new seriously weird animals! One of our favourites this year!! www.bettybookmark.co.uk
