The present book is the second volume in the series Underutilized and Underexploited Horticultural Crops, edited by Prof. K.V. Peter. Like the first volume, this one also covers six chapters on underexploited fruits, five on vegetables, one on tuber crops, three each on flowers and trees, and two on spices. Dr. Bhuwon Sthapit from IPGRI, Malaysia, contributes a chapter on In Situ Conservation of Horticultural Crops. Underutilized fruits of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands are examined in detail by Dr. D.R. Singh, while eminent scientists in their respective crops discuss Giant Granadilla, Apricot, Low Chilling Peaches, Aonla, and Ber. Dr. Umesh Srivastava from ICAR, New Delhi, explores Genetic Resource Management in Cucurbits, and Dr. Samadia from the Central Institute of Arid Horticulture, Bikaner, writes about Arid Vegetables. Dr. S.K. Pandey, Director of CPRI, Shimla, provides an in-depth analysis of Taxonomy of Temperate Underutilized Root and Tuber Crops. The book also includes a chapter on Underutilized flowers surrounding homesteads by Dr. U. Sreelatha from Kerala Agricultural University. An overview of Liliums is provided by Dr. K.
