There is something very special about a chapter book. Created for the 5–8 age group, chapter books fit that reading space between picture books (though, of course, we all know nobody ever grows out of picture books!) and middle-grade novels. This 5+ age is also very special as not only are children learning to read, they are rapidly learning about the world around them, about who they are, and how to become independent people.
