David Walker has been drawing and painting all of his life. He graduated from the University of Kansas, USA, and was Art Director at Hallmark cards in Kansas City before starting his own business. He now works on a variety of illustration projects, from children’s books and greetings cards to fabric and scrapbook supplies, and all from his studio in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. David’s life is a tangle of dogs, cats and kids and his art is inspired by all the wonderful chaos that comes with them.
Where is that special person Mum and Dad promised to bring home? There are lots of knocks at the door as new animal friends come calling, but none of them are quite who this little toddler is expecting. She's waiting for someone cuddly like her friend the polar bear, bouncy like the kangaroo, AND noisy like the dinosaur. Who can it be? An adorably funny rhyming story with large flaps to lift and sweet animal illustrations.
If animals went to school, what would they do? Fox would head to the story nook, Lemur would climb the jungle gym at recess, and Ms. Cheetah would teach them shapes and letters. Beaver wouldn't want to go at first . . . but then he wouldn't want to leave! In this next installment in Ann Whitford Paul and David Walker's successful series, following If Animals Kissed Good Night and If Animals Said I Love You, little readers can imagine how animals would spend a day in the classroom.
If animals said 'Merry Christmas', how would they say it? Beaver would gnaw down trees with his teeth, Koala would decorate with Mama and Papa, and of course Polar Bear Santa would fly through the night! Following the success of If Animals Kissed Good Night this new instalment is a celebration of the Christmas season, complete with the series' signature adorable animals.
If animals said I love you, how would they say it? Gorilla would pound her chest, whale would sing, and cheetah would purr. In this board book edition of If Animals Said I Love You, Ann Whitford Paul and David Walker imagine all the ways the members of the animal kingdom might express love. A perfect bedtime story for the youngest audience.
