Denis Angelov is a children’s book i lustrator based in Sofia, Bulgaria. He studied Art Education and Pedagogy at Sofia University, which gave him the opportunity to try his hand at drawing, painting, printmaking and sculpture. Denis loves to use mixed media in his work, including gouache, oil pastels, coloured pencils, watercolours, inks, balpoint pens and more – in fact, if it’s within arm’s reach while he’s drawing, it will most likely end up in the illustration! Before he became a children’s book illustrator, Denis worked as a graphic designer in an advertising agency. Nowadays, when he’s not illustrating, you can find him travelling and exploring quiet, picturesque towns. He also loves a good indie or folk playlist, and can spend hours searching out a new favourite record.
