Embassy of the Dead

Engaging and a page turner.

I really like this book because it keeps you engaged and on your toes. The book is adventurous with a degree of mystery. The mix of characters, good and bad - make it very interesting and fun. The Grim Reaper - Mawkins - is is described so well, especially where fog follows him everywhere. The book captures your imagination of the land of dead and land of living - really good balance of the two worlds. I loved the Embassy of the dead - it protects the two worlds from each other.
Slightly scary for young children, but fine to read for a 9 year old and older.

If someone says good morning to you in the afternoon, be sure to correct them: you don't want to be mistaken for a ghost!

This is a thrilling tale about a boy named Jake accidentally opening a box that contains a rotten finger! It all happens when a parcel is delivered to the wrong person. That box was not supposed to be opened - but because he opened it, Jake is doomed to the eternal void (it's as bad as it sounds!). On his way to the Embassy of the Dead, he gathers a deadly gang that includes Stiffkey the undertaker, Cora the hockey loving ghost and Zorro the ghost fox. They have one mission - to try and find the Embassy of the Dead and explain their mistakes.

This is story of friendship and trust, spooky but not scary. Fans of the film WITCHES BALL will enjoy it and so will those who enjoy an adventure. i recommend it to readers aged 8 to 12.

Wow! I loved Embassy of the Dead! I couldn't put it down! Throughout the book I found myself getting to know and love the characters even more than I already did!

I loved Embassy of the dead! It was a real thriller with a sense of comedy mixed in as well. I couldn't put it down! My favourite character would have to be Stiffkey because he's so sensible but his manner and personality are heartwarming! Throughout the book I found myself getting to know and love the the characters even more then I already did.

An otherworldly read about a boy and his ghostly friends. An unusual plot with some amusing characters. A fun read if you like something a little different.

Embassy of the Dead is a quirky story about a boy who accidentally opens a strange box which causes him to go on the run from a grim reaper. With the help of some ghostly friends he ventures into the Embassy and attempts to return the box and save the world. An unusual plot with some amusing characters. A fun read.
